Teachers’ Training: A Mission for Transformation

It is said that all professionals with different fields of studies came from the hands of a very simple mentor…with these thoughts in mind and despite the fact that being a teacher is very taxing; still, being one is really to be proud of.

Teaching is a challenging task.

One shall perform his duty with the highest degree of excellence, professionalism, intelligence, skill, and with utmost devotion and dedication to ensure the quality of education. It is also the noblest profession. To achieve this, a teacher
never retires from learning.

St. Anthony Academy trains teachers not only academically but also spiritually. Before the formal training of the teaching staff, a Recollection and Team Building was held. The Recollection was scheduled May 11, 2018 at Sophie’s
Farm, Brgy. Doña Lucia, Mondragon, Northern Samar. Sr. Lydia Collado, one of the RSCJ sisters, served as the
recollection master.

After the recollection was a mass presided by Fr. Anton. The
following day, the Team Building was at Seashore Spring Beach Resort, San Antonio, Northern Samar where all members of the family had attended. This was done to build unity, trust and camaraderie among members. This also served as the wrecking ball from barriers of discomfort, anxiety and doubt in the family.

St. Anthony Academy teaching staff started the academic year with an In Service Training venued in the school. The said training lasted for two weeks starting May 15-25, 2018.

Attached is the list of topics that were discussed and given focus during the training:
