Along with Br. Jun who attended the ceremony were the members of the Lasallian Schools Supervision Office (LASSO)– Br. John David M. Ong, FSC from La Salle Academy – Ozamis; Mrs. Ophelia S. Fugoso, AFSC, LASSO Executive Director; Mr. Jose Ramelle E. Javier, Luzon LASSO Superintendent; and Mrs. Agnes C. Alonsozana, LSVMS LASSO Supervisor. Also present at the blessing were Rev. Fr. Zoilo R. Deslate, Jr., representatives
from the Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTMNC), Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC), RTN Foundation, Inc. LSVMS parents, alumni, faculty, and students.
In view, the 67 Million High School Building is funded bythe school’s donor companies, RTNMC and CBNC, through the Foundation. All classrooms include LED TV with Apple TV and routers.
Likewise, the blessing was done at the phase one site among three other sites still being constructed which include additional classrooms and offices, Mac Computer Laboratory, and Library that are expected to be finished in 2019.
Aside from the campus blessing ceremony, the LASSO teamattended a meeting with the RTNMC, CBNC, and RTNFI officials,toured the campus, visited the mine site, conducted general assemblies and sessions with the faculty, staff, students, and parents,on November 22 and 23 2017. Moreover, Br. Ophel, Mr. Ramelle, and Ms. Agnes conducted classroom observations while Br. John spearheaded recollections with RTNFI Secretariat and Hospital on November 23, 2017.
